Print ThisNorth Carolina USA GymnasticsExplanation of Awards Distribution at State MeetThe national office of USA Gymnastics provides guidelines for presenting individual awards in the annual Rules and Policies Handbook, usually in the Section titled Jr. Olympic Awards.
North Carolina augments the suggested number of awards at State Meets by presenting medals and plaques only, extending awards to about one-half of the gymnasts in each age group. Age groups are encouraged to be set at a maximum of 30 gymnasts for each age group, but encourage less than 30 gymnasts.
North Carolina USA Gymnastics Board provides the required state medals purchased from A-1 Awards. The State Medals fill the required placements by USAG guidelines, with the addition that a gold medal plaque is awarded for first All-Around. The remaining placements are awarded a Uni bronze medal purchase from A-1 Awards (referred to as NC bronze)
Please refer to the awards section in Rules & Policies and augment as follows:
a) award placements in each event up to half the number of competitors, but use State Medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, then extend with NC bronze to the half number. b) award placement in All-Around for up to half the number of competitors, using the Gold Plaque for 1st, State Medal silver for 2nd, and State Medal bronze for 3rd, (1-4 for 6-10 gymnasts), then extend with NC bronze to the half number, if needed.
a) award 1-6 All-Around State Medals and extend with NC bronze to the half number b) award 1-3 State Medals for event places and extend with NC bronze to the half number
