2008 NC State Clinic Information

The North Carolina USA Gymnastics State Clinic (sanctioned) will be held at Salem Gymnastics on the weekend of August 8-10^th, coinciding with the opening of the 2008 Olympics. Basic organization: · Sessions will be 50 minutes long with a 10-minute break between. · Judges’ testing will be offered on Sunday from 8:00 AM – Noon. · Marian Dykes, Regional Technical Director, will be here on Saturday and we will ask her to lead interactive discussions between coaches & judges. Please try to collect your thoughts for compulsory and optional questions in a round-table discussion format · Friday will start at 1:30 PM for registration with the first sessions starting at 2:00 PM and ending around 6:00 PM · Saturday morning (9am – Noon) Salem has pre-school classes. Some judging sessions will be offered but gym floor sessions will start at Noon. · All sessions will conclude by 1:00 PM on Sunday. Fees: $50.00 per person (clinicians will pay $30). Fee includes a social on Friday night and lunch on Saturday Host gym – Salem gymnastics will provide information on hotel accommodations on the nc-usag.org website as it is finalized. A wonderful mix of North Carolina coaches and judges will provide insightful and relevant information to professional members who attend. The Board is finalizing the schedule. Each hour there will be sessions covering Coaching Clinics, General Rules and Conditioning, Pre-School and Recreational Classes, and Judging. Mary Hoagland, SJD, is preparing for the ability to earn judging credits.
