The Level 4,5,6 State Meets were discussed.  There was a feeling that many of the gymnasts left the compulsory State meets disappointed.  Many gymnasts had great meets but did not receive medals or awards due to the high caliber of competition.

Motion                   Andy      that we extend medal presentation to all places in the All Around at State meets

for Levels 4,5, and 6.  The motion was amended to include Rookie 1 and 2,

Novice and Prep 1.

2nd                           Kristie                                    Motion was passed unanimously.

Motion                   Sarah      that the Prep Optional program adopt the new optional score range rules.

2nd                          Darlene.                                 Motion was passed unanimously.

North Carolina will send Level 7 athletes to the Region 8 Invitational.  The top 16 athletes regardless of age group will represent the State.  The athletes are slated to compete on the Friday of Level 8 Regionals with the younger gymnasts competing in the morning session and the older gymnasts in the afternoon.  Alternates will be selected using the rank order of finish at the state meet and will give signed information acknowledging intent to compete in case of withdrawals.

Motion                   Andy      that all Regional qualifiers receive the same leotard regardless of level.

2nd                           Sarah.                                     Motion was passed unanimously

Kristie will work with GK to secure leos for our gymnasts using the new GK Breast Cancer theme.

Costs for outfitting Regional qualifiers will be $60.00 for each gymnast and $40.00 for each coach.

There was much discussion over late entries art State Meets.  This has been and on-going problem over the years.

Motion                   Andy      that all entries for State Meets must be in by midnight on the Monday following

the last qualifier for all levels.  Late entries will be accepted along with a $25.00

late fee per gymnast if space is available until midnight on the Wednesday

following the last qualifier.  No entries will be allowed after the Wednesday

deadline.

2nd                           Sarah                                      Motion was passed unanimously

The meet schedule for all State Meets must be available and posted on the nc-usag.org website  by Friday following the last qualifying weekend.

Motion                   Darlene that any team entries that are submitted late be assessed with a double entry fee.  2nd                           Andy                                      Motion was passed unanimously

The NC NAWGJ  will host a summer clinic on the weekend of August 22nd.  NC-USAG may want to jointly plan with the judges.  More details will be provided at a future date.

Motion                   Kenny    to adjourn at 10:30 P.M.

2nd                           Andy

Respectfully submitted.
