Guidelines for NC state meets

Schedule

  • Keep levels back to back do not split levels overnight (if possible)

  • Levels that qualify by percent go first

  • Levels compete oldest to youngest

  • Sessions made by dividing the whole count of a level in order of birth dates and dividing it by number of sessions for that level

 

Age groups

  • Age groups made by dividing the number of gymnast in a session into equal groups by birth dates (CHA, CHB, CHC ect.)

  • For Rookie any 5 yr. olds will make their own age group

  • Age groups not to exceed 25 gymnast per group

 

Rotation sheets

  • Made by random draw, for starting event, and for order in each rotation (not grouped by team (or alphabetical)

  • If a gym has two squads in a session make starting events all in one flight and odd events (exchange whole squad) ie. VT and BB in same flight

 

Must provide a copier

2010-11 Meet Schedule

Lots of Discussion about the Compulsory Meet schedule…

 

Some clubs moved to other weekends, we will wait to see how the meet intents come out to finalize judges.  NAWGJ feels that they can only host 3 meets per day in compulsory season.

Discussed USAG Finance Changes for the 2010-11 Season

NC Training Camps

Optional Training Camp @ International Gymnastics

            Gymnasts ready to compete Level 7-10, priority will be given to 8-10

            Max of 120 gymnasts

Weekend of Nov. 12-14, registered on first come, first serve basis

Coaches Basic Technique & Program Developmental Camp @ Central Carolina Gymnastics

            December 28th & 29th, 2010

Great learning experience of basic skills and program development of strong athletes for future development,

            Max of 60 kids per day

Fee for Coaches, Judges & Gymnasts will be determined at a later date

Available to Level 3-6, Preps, Coaches and Judges

 

North Carolina Coach of the Year

Discussion of the process of selecting the NC Coach of the Year

Nominations will be accepted for the coach of the year and forms will be emailed out to all professional members by March 1st of 2011.  Nominations will be accepted with a summary of reason for nomination.  Ballots will be accepted prior to and at the Level 7-10 State Meet.

Prep Rules

NC will accept and support the Regional Prep Rules for this season, including changes, to unify the states in the Region.

NC adopts a Bronze 1 & 2, as soon as a gymnast reaches a 36.00 AA she must compete in Bronze 2 for the remainder of the season and at State Meet.

Reduce Bronze entry fee to $25 per gymnast with a 1 judge panel.

We feel that the new prep program will fulfill the same needs as those choosing to compete in the  AAU Program

 

State Meet Layouts

 

Preps will still be on 2 weekends, will determine what levels will be on what weekend after optional intents are received.

March 18-20 & April 1-3

Jennie will be sending out an email requesting Prep State Meet Bids.

 

Next Meeting will be at International for the weekend of October 15-17.
